VANCOUVER ISLAND · BRITISH COLUMBIA
Mineral exploration. Exceptional boulders.
A new generation of stone development.
01 / OUR FOCUS
A new venture.
A long view.
DELLA’S Prospecting is a new Vancouver Island venture focused on remarkable stone and the possibilities it holds.
We’re developing a business that connects field observation, documented sourcing and considered recovery with ambitious uses for natural stone. Our interest starts with colour, structure and presence — especially substantial boulders, distinctive rough and pieces worth preserving whole.
GET TO KNOW THE MATERIAL ↘
Prospecting, mapping and material assessment. Understanding the geology, recording the source and giving each discovery useful context.

Exceptional boulders, substantial lapidary rough and architectural stone. Material with the scale and character to become a feature in its own right.

Developing the route from rough to finished form through mechanical handling, cutting and polishing — with a place for exceptional pieces to remain whole.
Regional landscapes and industry reference photography. Images illustrate our development focus.
02 / THE MATERIAL
Colour, crystal, pattern and presence. The stone families shaping our prospecting and material development interests.

SILICA-RICH STONE
Rich colour. Bold pattern. Striking cut faces.
A focus for substantial specimens, statement slabs and sculptural work. Each piece needs its own assessment of structure, soundness and cutting potential.

BANDING & TRANSLUCENCE
Quiet layers. Intricate detail. Light within.
Material to explore for polished faces, display pieces and lapidary work. We’re interested in the relationship between natural form, internal texture and the finished face.

ISLAND CHARACTER
Crystal patterns with unmistakable presence.
A distinctive direction for feature boulders, specimens and design projects. Our material interests include flowerstone with feldspar and epidote combinations.

VOLCANIC ORIGINS
Dark volcanic stone. Unexpected inner detail.
Volcanic stone patterned by mineral-filled cavities. Our focus is on large, visually striking pieces with compelling internal detail and a strong natural form.

PRESERVE WHAT MAKES IT EXCEPTIONAL.
The finest outcome may be a polished face, a considered cut, or a remarkable boulder left whole.
03 / FROM FIELD TO FINISH
Our development approach starts with the source and follows the material through every decision.
Observe the geology, understand the setting and evaluate the material’s potential.
Build useful records with photographs, dimensions, source context and material observations.
Establish access and permissions, then plan handling around the size, condition and intended use.
Select a cutting and finishing route, or preserve an exceptional piece in its natural form.
THE EQUIPMENT PROGRAMME
We’re assessing machinery and suppliers around material size, processing requirements and Canadian support.
Our recovery development also includes evaluating gold and heavy-mineral concentrates from suitable material.
