Penfield describes strong academic, library, sports and music programs. The school is within walking distance of Willow Point Park and the Campbell River Sportsplex, giving it unusually useful access to community recreation infrastructure.
District programming has also used Penfield for Forest & Beach Explorers, SPARK literacy/STEM/outdoor learning, summer choir and multi-sport programming.
