What stands out
Ocean Grove has a large school community garden used as an outdoor learning space. Each classroom has its own garden plot, with science, math, art, health, teamwork and problem-solving connected to growing food.
The school also participates in the B.C. fruit and vegetable program and has a strong volunteer/PAC culture around school activities.
ROOTED read
The school already has a practical grow-it, make-it, learn-outside base. ROOTED can reinforce that with gardening, ecology, food skills, field equipment and local outdoor pathways without forcing a mascot concept where none is verified.
ROOTED SCHOOL IDENTITY SUPPORT
ORCA IDENTITY SIGNALS — VERIFICATION STILL PENDING
Current official school material strongly points to an Orca identity: the school promotes “Orca Wear,” uses the “Orca Star Award,” and school-hosted material shows an orca in the Ocean Grove logo. Those are strong school-identity signals, but ROOTED has not found an authoritative statement explicitly declaring Orca the official mascot or team name. Official colours also remain unverified, so ROOTED keeps any concept artwork neutral and clearly unofficial until the school confirms both.
ROOTED can support school-approved garden, ecology, outdoor-learning and merch graphics after current school identity and permissions are confirmed.
ASK ROOTED ABOUT THIS SCHOOLSources checked: current official Ocean Grove / SD72 pages, including “Orca Wear,” the Orca Star Award, and a school-hosted newsletter showing an orca in the Ocean Grove logo. Orca is therefore treated as observed/likely, not formally verified. ROOTED page accents are not presented as official school colours.

PREMIUM SCHOOL SPIRIT SYSTEM
Current official school material shows an Orca school-spirit signal; a formal mascot/team nickname and official colours remain unverified. ROOTED art stays unofficial.
