French immersion & early branches
École des Deux Mondes is a single-track Early French Immersion school. Students continue into École Phoenix Middle School, creating a clear K–8 French-language pathway before secondary school.
The school mission emphasizes a safe, supportive bilingual environment and responsible lifelong learning. Current staff includes an Indigenous Education Success Teacher, learning support, music and bilingual education-assistant capacity.
ROOTED fit: bilingual outdoor vocabulary, bike skills, nature observation, photography, basic technical making and family-supported field experiences can add experiential branches without competing with the school’s core French Immersion identity.
Any ROOTED-facing schoolwear or activity copy should be properly bilingual rather than English copy with French decoration added afterward.

The strongest identity signal here is already in the school’s purpose and name: des Deux Mondes—two worlds—inside a fully French Immersion elementary environment.
An older official newsletter shows that an EDM logo was silk-screened onto clothing, so ROOTED should locate the current version of that existing mark before proposing replacement art.
Where new work is welcome, the design system should be clean enough for embroidery, playful enough for K–5, genuinely bilingual, and distinct from the culturally connected district artwork that ROOTED has no reason to imitate.

Current official sources reviewed do not clearly publish a mascot/team nickname or official colour palette. An older school newsletter documents EDM-logo silk-screening on clothing, which is enough to know an existing visual identity has been used—but not enough to assume the old logo, colours or permissions are current.
ROOTED should first obtain the current school logo files and usage guidance. From there, a school-approved collection can use a clean bilingual crest, original DEUX MONDES / EDM graffiti lettering and a mascot or character direction only if the school wants one. French wording gets native-level proofing before anything is printed.
