Each ROOTED sport page is built around access, safety, shared equipment, practical skill and a pathway forward—not just participation.
ROOTED Learn to Swim treats swimming as basic capability, not a luxury activity. The objective is repeat access and real competence: comfort in water, floating, propulsion, breathing and foundational strokes.
Swimwear, goggles, caps, kickboards, fins, pull buoys, noodles, teaching platforms, lane equipment, mesh bags and reliable access to pools and change facilities.
Progression into swim clubs, aquatic instruction, coaching, lifesaving, lifeguarding and municipal recreation employment.

Evidence-backed relationship state: Swim BC has provided substantive human guidance. Lifesaving Society BC & Yukon, BCRPA and Arena Canada have been contacted without a human reply evidenced; a separate CPRA exchange suggested BCRPA as a route but does not create a BCRPA relationship. BC Summer Swimming Association, City of Nanaimo Recreation/Aquatics, Swimming Canada and Lifesaving Society Canada are current official/research references. Canadian Swimming Coaches Association, Kiefer Aquatics, Water Gear and JMC Distribution remain research/reference routes. No partnership, sponsorship or delivery commitment is implied.
Equipment brands, operators, associations, coaches, technicians and local experts can all contribute to an activity page.
Sponsor status will be updated as commitments are confirmed.
