ROOTED SPORTS / ACTIVITY
ROOTED PROGRAM • PRACTICAL ACCESS / REAL SKILLS / PATHWAYS
Terrain judgment, park and freeride progression with coaching, protection, mountain safety and technical equipment support.
SPORT • ACCESS • SAFETY • EQUIPMENT • PATHWAYS • PARTNERS
One activity. One clear system. The right gear, instruction, access and contributors around it.
Each ROOTED sport page is built around access, safety, shared equipment, practical skill and a pathway forward—not just participation.
ROOTED Freestyle & Freeride is a later-stage pathway for youth who want to keep progressing after core ski or snowboard competence.
It emphasizes controlled progression, terrain judgment, qualified coaching and a strong safety boundary rather than just access to bigger features or terrain.
Twin-tip skis or boards, appropriate boots/bindings, helmets, impact protection, video tools, packs and access to properly managed terrain parks or approved freeride environments.
Coaching, judging, events, terrain-park operations, avalanche education, guiding awareness, media and advanced mountain-sport pathways.
OUTREACH + ACTIVE CONTRIBUTORS
Names shown here may include organizations in outreach, active discussion, technical contribution or confirmed participation. ROOTED will only describe a company as a sponsor once support is actually committed.
Outreach = contacted or targeted. Contributor = providing useful input or access. Sponsor = committed support.
Current network for this activity:
Evidence-backed relationship state: Salomon has acknowledgement evidence. IFSA Western Canada, BC Snowboard, Canada Snowboard and Snowsports Industries America have launch outreach with no human reply evidenced. K2, BCA, ski-area operators, protective-equipment suppliers, freeride-pack suppliers, terrain-park equipment and avalanche-education routes remain research/reference lanes. No partnership, sponsorship or delivery commitment is implied.
Equipment brands, operators, associations, coaches, technicians and local experts can all contribute to an activity page.
Sponsor status will be updated as commitments are confirmed.
Individual sport pages are being expanded from the ROOTED Snow, Water, Bike and Field systems.
Want to bring this activity into a school or district? See the ROOTED Schools model and B.C. district directory.
ROOTED is still being developed with educators, qualified instructors, operators, safety professionals and community partners. If you know this work, bring the useful stuff.
