a little homework.
A thoughtful brief makes a better character.
The making-room concept is still being developed.
Own the character.
Develop original ideas, or confirm the right to use someone else’s character, logo or artwork. A reference is not a licence to reproduce it.
Keep skin and scenery separate.
Theatrical makeup belongs in the cosmetic lane. Prop paint, craft coatings and fabrication adhesives do not become skin products because they match a colour. Follow each product’s intended use and directions.
Build the brief before the build.
Record scale, performer fit, movement, visibility, event requirements and maintenance needs. Foam printing, cutting and fabrication are research topics here — not services we claim to provide.
